Health & Safety Guidance

Last updated: 12.02.2026

We look forward to welcoming you to the Gordon Ramsay Academy. We aim to provide a relaxed environment where we can cook, learn and enjoy the experience together, but there are a few important safety guidelines we ask all guests to follow.

By booking a class with us, you agree to follow these guidelines and any instructions given by the chef or Academy team during the session.

BEFORE ATTENDING A CLASS

Please notify the Academy of any dietary requirements (including allergies or intolerances) or specific needs (such as accessibility considerations) when booking or by contacting us before the class date.

If you are feeling unwell, we ask that you contact the Academy team to discuss rescheduling your booking where possible.

Please wear appropriate clothing and footwear suitable for a kitchen environment, including flat, comfortable, closed-toe shoes.

The Academy uses induction hobs. Guests with pacemakers should consult their doctor before attending a practical class.

WHEN ATTENDING A CLASS

1 Wash your hands thoroughly before and after cooking and at regular intervals during the class.

2 Never leave glasses, knives, or sharp objects in sinks.

3 Never walk with a knife pointing outward. Always carry knives at your side with the blade pointing down.

4 Inform a team member of any breakages or spills immediately so that they can be safely managed.

5 Always use dry oven cloths when removing hot items from ovens or stoves.

6 Use dry hands when operating electrical equipment.

7 In the event of an emergency, follow the instructions of the Academy team and exit the building via the nearest safe exit.

8 We have trained first aiders on site. Please inform a team member immediately if you experience any injury, including cuts or burns.

9 Follow all hygiene and safety instructions provided by the chef or Academy team.

10 Have fun and enjoy the experience.

MOBILE PHONES

You are welcome to take photos and videos during your visit. Please keep mobile phones on silent or vibrate during sessions. If you need to take a call, please step outside the kitchen or classroom area.

PHOTOGRAPHY

Please note that photographs or video footage may be taken during classes and used for marketing and promotional purposes, including on websites and social media channels.

Please inform a member of the Academy team if you prefer not to appear in photography or recordings.

CHOPPING BOARDS

Colour-coded chopping boards provide a recognised system for managing cross- contamination during food preparation. There is no universally mandated colour-coding system, and practices may vary between kitchens.

The Gordon Ramsay Academy operates its own colour-coded system appropriate to the Academy environment and food safety requirements. Guests should always follow the instructions provided during the class.
